Krystyn LaBate, Ph.D.
Founder and Executive Director
Krystyn LaBate brings with her over 25 years of experience in the health care industry which includes work in psychiatry, geriatrics, neurology/CNS, and rare disease. Currently working as a Sr. Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry, she has a strong background in drug development and clinical trials. She is a past Chairperson for the Saratoga County Early Intervention Coordinating Council, as well as a current member of several other community groups. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Siena College, a Master of Arts in Community Psychology from Sage Colleges, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavioral Medicine from Walden University.
Lori Kidd, BSW
Vice-President
Lori Kidd is the Director of Information, Referral, and Special Projects with the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York. Having over 40 years of experience as a Social Worker, her past experience includes work within the areas of child protective services, domestic violence, geriatrics, and educating individuals with developmental delays. Previously, Lori held a case management supervisory position, and was instrumental in guiding the agency through New York State’s transition to Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) for the delivery of Medicaid Service Coordination. As a Graduate of Utica College/Syracuse University, Lori learned very early in her career that social work is truly her passion, and her desire to advocate for clients is still as strong as it was when she began her life’s journey as a social worker.
Courtney Gelish
Secretary
Courtney Gelish works as a Corporate Marketing Manager for Encore Vet Group, focused on brand growth and outreach initiatives to veterinary partners. With experience in advertising and marketing supporting clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local franchises, she builds meaningful and authentic strategies to drive brand awareness and increase engagement. With a passion for animals, Courtney has volunteered with shelters and rescues for nearly 20 years. A graduate of Siena College, Courtney brings experience in fundraising, event planning, and marketing to the CMCD Foundation.
Erica DeNicola-Scher
Board Member
Erica DeNicola-Scher brings many years of nonprofit and public health work to the CMCD Foundation, including research and writing, grant work, community outreach and education, advocacy, and more. Currently, Erica is a Lead Specialist, Data & Event Management at American Red Cross Eastern New York. Previously, she was the Director of Community Education & Advocacy Coordinator for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, and prior to this, a Project Staff Assistant for the Institute for Health and the Environment under SUNY Research Foundation. Erica holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master's degree in Health Education from Ithaca College.
Elaine Houlihan
Board Member
Elaine Houlihan is currently a Project Manager for the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance in Albany, NY, where she helps in the development and implementation of housing for some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers. Previously, she worked as an Examiner for the Albany County Department of Social Services. A graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, Elaine brings experience in human services, outreach, and patient advocacy.
